At the fourth National Young Entrepreneurs Summit, Expo and Awards in Ho, Sherif Ghali, then CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs, called on government to set up a dedicated fund giving young business owners soft loans. He said financial institutions see young entrepreneurs as high-risk borrowers and avoid lending to them, leaving many unable to start or expand, or to pay for professional help with branding, marketing, legal compliance and regulation.

He also argued that five-year tax holidays for young entrepreneurs do not work in practice, called for market-access conditions that favour young-owned firms, and urged young entrepreneurs to learn the laws and standards that apply to them.
