Establish a National Young Entrepreneurs Fund, GCYE CEO urges government
Speaking at the 4th National Young Entrepreneurs Summit in Ho, Sherif Ghali called on government to create a National Young Entrepreneurs Fund through the National Development Commission, with mandatory budget allocations for successive governments, and drew a line between empowering young people and investing in them.

At the 4th National Young Entrepreneurs Summit in Ho, Sherif Ghali, then CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs, urged government to establish a National Young Entrepreneurs Fund to support the country’s industrialisation goals. He proposed that it be funded through mandatory budget allocations that successive governments must honour, giving young business owners dependable access to finance.
He drew a line between empowering young people and investing in them, arguing that Ghana will not go far without deliberate investment in its youth. He asked the National Development Commission to oversee the creation of the fund so that the commitment survives changes of government.
One young entrepreneur at the summit, which also featured an expo and an awards ceremony, said the event was valuable for networking and encouraged others to make good use of technology and social media.
