Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs opens YES 2025 in Tamale
At the fifth National Young Entrepreneurs Summit, Expo and Awards in Tamale, themed Resetting Ghana: The Role of Youth Entrepreneurship in National Renewal, Sherif Ghali called for judging youth business support by the number of globally competitive youth-led businesses built and scaled. He announced the Young Entrepreneurs Pitch to back 10 promising enterprises.

The Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs opened the fifth National Young Entrepreneurs Summit, Expo and Awards (YES 2025) in Tamale, under the theme “Resetting Ghana: The Role of Youth Entrepreneurship in National Renewal”. The gathering brought together young entrepreneurs, policymakers, development partners, traditional leaders and private-sector representatives.
Sherif Ghali, then CEO of GCYE, argued that support for young businesses should be judged by the number of globally competitive youth-led businesses built and scaled, not by the grants handed out. He called for a National Youth Entrepreneurship Policy Framework to coordinate the many agencies working in the space, and announced a new flagship, the Young Entrepreneurs Pitch, to find and back the country’s most promising youth-led enterprises. The top three winners receive targeted business support and seed funding.
The Northern Regional Minister tied the summit to the government’s apprenticeship and industrialisation agenda, and a traditional leader urged young people to pursue their goals with honesty and hard work.
